Tony's Bio

Tony Cooper has been singing his whole life. People in his family tell him he used to walk around in diapers singing songs on the radio.

He grew up with an appreciation for all types of music and still loves to sing 'em all, but Country music is where his heart is.

He began performing publicly in 1997 at local clubs in his hometown of Woodland, Ca. and people really responded positively. Tony began to believe that a career in music was a real possibility and began entering talent contests...and winning them. One such contest was hosted by a company named: Six Records, based out of Los Angeles, Ca. Shortly after the competition, Tony was contacted by the president of the company who offered Tony a management and record deal.

Of course Tony jumped at the opportunity and began a Northern California touring schedule. Unfortunately after only three performances with Six Records, they decided to relocate back to New York and cut all ties with their California artists due to the distance and obstacles of managing over that type of distance.

Tony continued to perform live and constantly looked for other opportunities to come along.

Then, in February of 2002, Tony's dad sent a copy of Tony's homemade demo to a friend of his in Santa Rosa, Ca. That friend, in turn, gave a copy to an acquaintance of his who owns a small, independent record label named:

Gingham Records.

He listened to the demo and contacted Tony very shortly thereafter. "Toothpick" Larry Nerison told Tony that he had a true talent and gift and that if he didn't do something with it he would be foolish. The two met and talked for about four hours and agreed to work together. Shortly thereafter, "Toothpick" had Tony in the recording studio with some very established musicians in the country music industry. They recorded for just over two months and the album was released in August of 2003.

They plan to start touring throughout California to promote the new CD: Flyin' The Coop'.

Where Tony goes from there is yet to be determined, but success is definitely in the future!!!
